Tuition Assistance

Tuition and Fees

Lutheran North offers grant awards based on the family's financial needs.  Eligibility is based on many factors including family income, expenses, assets, family size and the number of children attending tuition-charging educational institutions.

Lutheran North believes each family should be committed to their child's education and should participate in the financial responsibility associated with a Lutheran North Education.

We typically strive to meet 50 - 70 percent of an applicant's demonstrated need, sometimes more.

The financial aid application process can be completed online.
During the application process, you will need our FACTS Institution ID numbers: 314

Deadline for Financial Aid

Online financial aid applications open on November 1 for the following school year. Priority will be given to families who apply by the deadline of April 30. Families who apply after this deadline may not receive an award or may receive a significantly reduced amount. Financial aid award letters will be mailed to each family on a rolling basis beginning December 1 for the following school year.

For families to receive their aid award, they must have completed the entire school admissions application process.

Have Questions? We've Got Answers!

List of 3 frequently asked questions.

  • Q: How can I afford tuition?

Private school tuition varies greatly across the country and even within the St. Louis area. Students who are confirmed members in good standing of a Lutheran church in the Lutheran High School Association receive a $1200 discount. There are also multiple student discounts for families who have two or more students at Lutheran North at the same time.

For some families, this tuition amount will seem daunting. While Lutheran North does offer tuition assistance for families who qualify and also awards several one-time and renewable merit scholarships for selected incoming freshman, the cost may still seem unaffordable especially when public school is virtually free. How does a middle-income family afford it?

Commitment and mindset can be the key. When something as important as Christian education becomes a priority, it is easier to find a plan to make it work. If you believe that a Christian high school education is important in the academic and spiritual development of your son or daughter then sacrifices in other areas become acceptable if not essential. Some parents will need to ask the question: “What less important things can I do without or cut back?”

It’s a tough thing to take a look at our comfortable lives and the lives of those around us and think about doing without. We’re not all that good at it. But is it worth it for what you can give your child? Committed Christian families, with the Lord’s help, are making it work to send their children to Lutheran High School North. Is it often a huge sacrifice? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Nothing is more important than the daily presence of God’s Word in the lives of your son or daughter. Nothing. The enduring value for your child of the investment you make now is well worth the sacrifice.
  • Q: How many students receive financial aid?

All funds awarded are grants and do not need to be paid back.  71% of students receive financial aid.
  • Q: Are your students awarded college scholarships?

Our graduates are offered millions of dollars in scholarships every year for academics, athletics, music, and other special talents. Class of 2017 graduates were offered over $7.3 million in scholarships and grants. The class accepted $1.9 million of the offered scholarships and grants, or approximately 26%, to attend colleges and universities across the country.
